Types of Therapy

Remuda Ranch at The Meadows treats women, adolescents and children with anorexia, bulimia, and related issues. Additionally, we treat those struggling with binge eating disorder, obesity and compulsive overeating in our Binge Eating Disorder Treatment Program.

Eating Disorder Treatment

Remuda Ranch at The Meadows provides holistic inpatient treatment for women and girls struggling with anorexia, bulimia and related issues. By using the highly effective Remuda Model of treatment and 25 years of an established treatment regimen of best practices, this intensive program is designed to eliminate eating disordered behaviors, regain patient health and get every individual on the road to recovery.

Remuda is a place where eating disorders don’t define an individual. The individual defines their treatment. Each program is tailored to meet the needs of the individual patient and their individual needs.

Our mind-body-social-spiritual framework of care makes the best use of healing in every aspect of an individual’s life. And because our programs are designed to empower our patients, lasting changes are able to take root and thrive.

Because eating disorders often occur with other co-occurring issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse or trauma, we accompany group and individual therapy with other innovative treatment approaches.

Experiential Therapy For Eating Disorders

A goal of our program is to disempower the eating disorder by uncovering the complex psychological factors contributing to the patient’s unhealthy relationship with food. Change, emotional growth and personal empowerment are all among the benefits of participating in the effective experimental therapy programs at Remuda Ranch at The Meadows.

As patients progress through structured experiential therapy activities at Remuda Ranch at The Meadows they are provided opportunities to experience successes, identify obstacles, develop improved self-esteem and take greater responsibility for their actions. The feeling of being able to overcome challenges helps patients feel that they are capable of doing what they thought was impossible, and gives them confidence over their eating disorder.

Experiential programming includes chapel, challenge course, horse riding and horse handling, art therapy, music therapy, pool time and nature walks on our spacious grounds.

At Remuda Ranch at The Meadows, we teach patients the skills needed to empower them to make the healthy choice required for long-lasting recover.
