For more than 20 years, Chris Diamond has dedicated his career to the behavioral health industry. He was named the Executive Director of Remuda Ranch at The Meadows in March 2013. Mr. Diamond's educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology and Master's coursework in Educational Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia. He has served as CEO and COO since 2007 for four treatment programs located in Arizona, California, Texas, and Kentucky. Mr. Diamond most recently served as CEO for Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital, a comprehensive behavioral health facility located in Tucson serving adolescents and adults, and CEO of Heritage Oaks Hospital, the largest behavioral health provider in the greater Sacramento region. From 1991 through 2006, he held numerous clinical service and leadership positions.
Dr. Kevin Wandler, Remuda Ranch at The Meadows Medical Director, received his medical degree from the University of Iowa. Dr. Wandler is Board Certified in General Psychiatry with added Qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is certified by the American Association of Addiction Medicine. He is a Certified Eating Disordered Specialist, certified by the International Academy of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) and is the current President of the Board of Directors for 2015-2016. His professional affiliations include the American Eating Disorder Association (AED), iaedp, American Psychiatric Association (APA) and American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Dr. Wandler was Medical Director and VP of Medical Services at Remuda Ranch at The Meadows from 1995 to 2011. He left to take a faculty position at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he was the Founder of the UF & Shands Eating Disorder Recovery Center (EDRC) at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Wandler most recently was the Founding Medical Director at the Recovery Village, a dual diagnosis program for Substance Abuse and Eating Disorders in the greater Orlando area.
Buck Runyan, Clinical Director for Remuda Ranch at The Meadows, has over 20 years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders in residential and inpatient settings as well as private practice. His prior roles have included supporting eating disorder treatment programs as a Program Director, Chief Operations Officer and Clinical Director. For a number of years, Buck had a private practice in Redlands, CA providing family and individual therapy for a broad range of mental health issues including marital and family relationships, mood disorders, self-harm, eating disorders, and bariatric surgery. His credentials include those as a California Marriage and Family Therapist, an Arizona Licensed Professional Counselor, and an iaedp Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor. Buck completed a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University.
Buck has served on the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp™) Board of Directors since 2010. He is the current past-President of the Board of Directors and is a Fellow of iaedp. Buck remains an active member of the iaedp Certification Committee. He was the founding chapter president for the first of iaedp’s regional chapters in 2004 and has been involved with the development of multiple regional US chapters.
Jessica Setnick, author of Pocket Guide to Eating Disorders (American Dietetic Association, 2011), is a past chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Behavioral Health Nutrition Practice Group and a founder of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians. She has received many professional honors, such as Today’s Dietitian Top 10 Dietitians Making a Difference, the BHN Award for Excellence in Practice, the inaugural Texas Dietetic Association Outstanding Nutrition Educator Award, and the inaugural Hallmark Alumni Award for Career Achievement from Texas Woman’s University. She has published research on the role of the dietitian in treating eating disorders and in making referrals to mental health care and is one of fewer than 100 dietitians worldwide who have achieved status as a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
Dr. Renee Bacas, Remuda Ranch at The Meadows Child Psychiatrist, received her medical degree from the University of Southern California. Dr. Bacas is Board Certified in General Psychiatry with added qualifications in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her experience includes public and institutional positions with a concentration in child and adolescent treatment. Dr. Bacas was previously a Staff Psychiatrist at The Meadows as well as Remuda Ranch from 2006-2010. After leaving Wickenburg, she spent over a year in Western Australia as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Rockingham Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Dr. Bacas has interest in integrative medicine, has practiced bikram yoga for over 20 years, enjoys hiking, theater, and art, and has traveled extensively in Asia and Europe. Her vast experience with youth, knowledge, and understanding of family systems help enrich our patient experience.
