Yong Lee, MD

Yong Lee, MD - Medical Director

Dr. Lee has been with Remuda since 2007. Lee started his career with Remuda at the Virginia facility working as the Director of Medical Services and later moved to the Arizona facility in the same role prior to becoming the Medical Director. He received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and his M.D. from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. He completed a preliminary year in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and did his residency in Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Before working at Remuda, Lee had experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry settings as well as working as a psychiatric consultant in medical facilities. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Adeola Adelayo, Psychiatrist

Adeola T. Adelayo, MD - Psychiatrist

Dr. Adeola Adelayo attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned a B.S. in Biology. She received honors and was a member of the Tri-beta Biology honor’s society. She went on to attend Medical School at the University of Illinois at Rockford. She did a Residency in general psychiatry at the Chicago campus followed by a Fellowship in child psychiatry also at the Chicago campus. In addition to her fellowship, She obtained additional training in women’s health issues. During her time at UIC, she was chosen to participate in an international rotation in psychiatry at Oxford University, England. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Prior to working at Remuda, Dr. Adelayo had experience working with children, adolescents and adult populations. She is board certified in general psychiatry and board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is the primary attending psychiatrist for the Del Sol (Child and Adolescent) Program at the Wickenburg campus.

Wallace B. Mendelson, MD

Wallace B. Mendelson, MD - Psychiatrist

Dr. Mendelson attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts. He attended medical school and did his psychiatry residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.  He served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry post residency. Dr. Mendelson has a distinguished career with extensive experience in both psychiatry and sleep disorders having held positions that have included: Psychiatrist with the Division of Special Mental Health Research at the National Institute of Health (NIH); Clinical Professor at George Washington University, Chief (Medical Director) of Section of Sleep Studies at the National Institute of Mental Health, NIH; Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology/Director of Center for Study of Sleep at the State University of New York, Stony Brook; Director of Sleep Disorders Center at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Professor/Director of the Sleep Research Laboratory at the University of Chicago.

He has also served as a consultant in psychopharmacology and worked as a psychiatrist in multiple settings including experience in trauma recovery (PTSD). He has been and is currently a member of multiple professional organizations. He has authored, co-authored and edited several books.

He has received honors that include the “Lady Davis” visiting professorship award, for Technion Insitute, Haifa, Israel, a “Certificate of Appreciation” by the AMA, a “William C. Dement Academic Achievement Award” by the American Sleep Disorders Association and a special award for “Excellence in Sleep and Psychiatry” by the National Sleep Foundation in 2010. Mendelson is a “Distinguished Fellow” by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and a member of the Sleep Research Society and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and in Sleep Disorders Medicine. 

Judith K. Ferriell

Judith K. Ferriell, NP - Psychiatric Provider

Judith “Judy” Ferriell attended Spalding College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree  in Nursing and the State University of New York/ Binghamton where she earned a Masters of Family Nursing. She holds a certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has over 25 years of experience in nursing management and administration. Judy has extensive experience working with women’s health issues with previous positions held at University of New Mexico Hospital and Mental Health Center, San Diego State University -Student Health Center and the Arizona State University -Campus Health Center. Ferriell serves as the Medical Supervisor for the Residential Life Program in Chandler.

Rebecca Walpole

Rebecca Walpole RN, MN APRN, BC – Primary Care Provider

Rebecca Walpole attended the University of Texas where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and the University of South Carolina where she earned a Masters of Nursing and a Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds a certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She held the rank of Major in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp with assignments to both US and European Military Bases. She has held previous positions at hospitals and medical facilities in Arizona, Texas, Georgia, California, Kansas and South Carolina. She has over 30 years of experience in nursing with extensive experience working with patients of all ages. She has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of eating disorders and has worked as a FNP at the Student Health Center of University of South Carolina. Walpole serves as a primary care provider for the inpatient program in Wickenburg. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau and the American Massage Therapy Association.

Dr. Williams, Primary Care Physician

Lesley L. Williams, MD - Primary Care Physician

Dr. Williams attended Spelman College where she earned a B.S. in Chemistry. She attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she earned her Medical Degree. During that time she received a Medical Student Research Award, designation as Outstanding Medical Student in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Community Service Award. She completed her family medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. She holds certifications in ACLS, ATLS, NRP, ALSO, PALs. She has interest in women’s health with a focus on adolescent medicine, eating disorders and obesity management. Williams has been an active participant of the Remuda Ranch “Speaker’s Bureau” with presentations done nationally on topics such as the medical aspects of an eating disorder and anorexia during pregnancy. She is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.
