We’ve devoted more than two decades to treating women, adolescent girls and children with eating disorders. We know exactly what it takes to achieve recovery.
We treat the person, never just the disease or disorder. Every patient has an individualized treatment plan designed to address her specific biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
Every patient has a multi-disciplinary team of experienced professionals dedicated to helping her get well. These include a psychiatric and primary care provider, a psychologist, a master’s or doctoral-level therapist, and a registered dietitian. Nurses monitor patients 24 hours a day and are always available to provide assistance and compassionate support whenever it is required.
The length of stay is highly flexible and individualized. Each patient remains in treatment as long as she needs to regain health, understand the “whys” behind her disorder and learn the skills and tools needed to lead a healthy life. There is a flexible length of stay based on patient's individual treatment needs. We believe this individualized length of stay is critical to successful recovery.
Remuda Ranch program is located in the scenic Arizona desert. This distance from home often proves therapeutically beneficial for all involved. Not only does distance help each patient focus exclusively on getting well, but it allows the family time to distress and regroup while the family member is receiving the exact care she needs. Although we provide top-notch medical care, our inpatient treatment is provided in quiet ranch-like settings that have little in common with institutional environments. It is in this peaceful place that patients find the strength to confront their problems, learn the tools and skills to overcome their eating disorder, then establish themselves firmly on the road to recovery.
The family has always played a key and critical role in the Remuda Ranch treatment process. They take part in therapeutic phone sessions with the patient and her therapist. The family also comes to Remuda Ranch to engage in the Family Experience. This is a time of learning, growth and change for everyone.
